Don’t be a slave to your finances
By Angela Dye
Those of you who missed today’s SHE Room, missed an opportunity to listen and learn from Angela’s wisdom, entwined with a wicked sense of humour! Angela is an incredibly engaging and entertaining presenter. Her down-to-earth nature and common-sense approach to financial situations, bad and good, leaves you with a feeling that all can be resolved with sound advice and a proper strategy.
Angela has assisted hundreds of people over the years to gain control of their finances and to put a plan in place that allowed them to live their life according to their dreams. Many people come to Angela in total despair. In her own admission many end up in tears, distraught at the situation they are in. By the end of the session with Angela, they are crying out of relief that she is there to assist.
Angela helped us consider where we were at financially and what we wanted to achieve. She gave us insight into how the Banks work and their end game – risk. Her timely reminders of = don’t spend more than you earn = is often lost in the desire for more and more.
We thoroughly enjoyed listening to Angela and many of us left the room with the tools to reassess our financial situation. We look forward to welcoming Angela back in 2017.
The craft for today’s session was creating our own money box. A tangible reminder of the importance of saving for a rainy day. We cut and glued images of our aspirations and desires – clothes, cars, holidays, nice food. A challenge to simply put any $5 notes received into the money box was taken up. I know for a fact that at least one person already has saved over $100!
